Add frozen berries and water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
2 cups mixed berries, 1/4 cup water
Bring them to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat and cook until berries are softened and the juices thicken, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in honey (or desired sweetener) and cook for another minute. Sweeten to taste.
3 tbsp honey
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.

Fresh berries: If you're using fresh berries, reduce the stewing time by half and add 1/4 cup of water to prevent them from burning.Thicken sauce: You can thicken the sauce by adding a cornstarch slurry or using a little arrowroot powder. Alternatively, add 2 tbsp of chia seeds which will thicken the sauce as they gel up.Storage: Stewed berries can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up a week. To freeze the stewed fruit, let it cool completely before transferring it to airtight freezer containers. It can be frozen for up to 3 months.
