Add the milk powder to a dry non-stick skillet over medium heat.
1/2 cup milk powder
Toast the milk powder until it turns a light golden brown and smells nutty. Make sure to stir the milk powder constantly and monitor the color closely for about 3-4 minutes.
Remove from heat and transfer it to a plate to cool completely before storing it an airtight container. Don't leave the milk powder in the pan or it will continue to toast and potentially burn.
Notes
Full-fat milk powder: Nonfat milk powder will produce a less flavorful and less creamy result.Stir constantly: To prevent burning, stir the milk powder continuously while toasting.Watch the color: Toast the milk powder until it reaches a light golden brown, but don't let it burn.Storage: Store the cooled powder in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month.
