Ingredients and substitutions

- Yogurt – I use full-fat Greek yogurt but any plain yogurt will work including lighter options. I make yogurt in the Instant Pot which is super easy to do.
- Mayonnaise: Store-bought or homemade plain mayonnaise including lighter versions work well. Try my homemade mayonnaise recipe.
- Dill: Freshly chopped dill works best but you can also use dried dill.
- Lemon: Zest and juice add some fresh flavors.
Step-by-step: lemon dill sauce

- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, chopped fresh dill, salt, and freshly cracked pepper. Stir to fully combine.
- Add fresh lemon juice and zest. Mix well. Adjust seasoning to taste.
My top 5 lemon dill sauce tips
- Lighter version: Substitute the mayonnaise with more plain Greek yogurt or sour cream for a lighter sauce.
- Fresh herbs: Add in more fresh herbs such as fresh parsley or chives for a more complex flavor.
- Adjust consistency: Add milk to make a thinner sauce.
- Chill time: Allow the sauce to chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving for the flavors to develop.
- Seafood side: This sauce is perfect for seafood salads such as my shrimp pasta salad or as a creamy side for shellfish such as my garlic tiger shrimp.
