  • Mayonnaise: Store-bought or homemade plain mayonnaise including lighter versions work well. Try my homemade mayonnaise recipe.
  • Dill: Freshly chopped dill works best but you can also use dried dill. Alternatively, you can use other fresh herbs such as fresh parsley, green onions, or chives.
  • Lemon: Zest and juice add extra freshness.
  • Seasoning: Sea salt and black pepper.

Variations

Lighter version: Substitute half with plain Greek yogurt or sour cream for a lighter dressing.

Lemon dill sauce: Add water or milk to create a thinner sauce.

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise. Add. chopped fresh dill, salt, and freshly cracked pepper. Stir to combine.
  2. Add fresh lemon juice and zest. Mix well. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice juice of one large lemon
  • 1 tsp lemon zest zest of one large lemon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • To prep dill, wash, dry, separate the leaves from stems, and finely chop them.
    1 tbsp fresh dill
  • In a small bowl, combine chopped dill, mayonnaise, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.

  • Adjust seasoning to taste. Add more dill if you prefer a stronger herbal flavor.

Notes
