Ingredients laid out to make pulled chicken sliders.
  1. ChickenBBQ pulled chicken is one of those set and forget recipes. Make it yourself or simply combine some ready-made pulled or shredded chicken with BBQ sauce for convenience.
  2. Buns – Homemade slider buns such as my Hawaiian dinner rolls or pretzel burger buns take these handy mini burgers to the next level but store-bought rolls such as King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls will do as well.
  3. Cheese – Tasty cheddar cheese adds extra flavor to these sliders but you can
  4. Extra sauce (optional) – Add extra BBQ sauce, sriracha or hot sauce for some spice, or tomato sauce if the pulled chicken looks a bit dry.

How to make pulled chicken sliders

See the recipe card for full information on the method.

Slider buns cut in half on a lined baking tray.

Cut the slider buns in half.

Fill the lower half with pulled chicken.

Add a level of shredded cheese on top.

Place the half on top and brush the slider with softened butter. Bake for in a preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the chicken is fully heated through.

Storage tips

You can assemble the sliders about 1 hour ahead of time before baking if your pulled chicken isn’t too juicy or the buns will end up soggy. Briefly reheat leftover sliders or store them another day in the fridge if needed. I don’t recommend freezing them.
